A voice for peace: Benjamin Liringa Koli, an entrepreneur committed to reconstruction in Ituri


Fatshimetrie, November 2, 2024 (ACP) – The courageous initiative of the Deputy Minister of National Defense of the Democratic Republic of Congo to establish a direct dialogue with the leaders of local armed groups in the Ituri province has elicited positive reactions, notably from a young entrepreneur engaged in the region, Benjamin Liringa Koli.

During an audience granted in Kinshasa, Benjamin Liringa Koli expressed his support and encouragement for this approach aimed at raising awareness and bringing disruptive elements back to the path of peace and reconstruction. He stressed the importance of the commitment of the Deputy Minister of National Defense for the pacification of the Ituri province, giving life to the vision of President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi for the development of this region rich in natural resources.

As an economic actor operating in Ituri, Benjamin Liringa Koli advocated for specific government support for entrepreneurs in Ituri and North Kivu, highlighting the risks taken in a complex security context to contribute to the local economy and the well-being of vulnerable populations. He stressed the close link between peace and sustainable development, emphasizing the need for a secure environment to foster trade and improve the living conditions of residents.
