A New Era for Rural Education in the DRC: Building Auditoriums at the Tshibashi Institute


Fatshimetrie, November 1, 2024 – The Higher Institute for Rural Development of Tshibashi, in Kananga, is distinguished by an ambitious project to build auditoriums. This institute, committed to training future actors in rural development in the Democratic Republic of Congo, has reached an important milestone with the construction of 4 auditoriums of 200 seats each, as well as a promotional room with a capacity of more than 500 seats.

The Director General of the Institute, Father Tobiaz Kuzeza Kabai, expresses his satisfaction with the quality of the work carried out on the Mwimba site, in the commune of Nganza. This new infrastructure will significantly improve the learning conditions of students, thus providing an environment conducive to the acquisition of knowledge and the development of skills.

This auditorium construction project represents a major step forward for the Higher Institute for Rural Development of Tshibashi. Indeed, this is the first time since its creation in 1979 that the institution has its own infrastructure, acquired through internal initiatives and significant financial efforts. This achievement demonstrates the commitment and determination of the Institute’s management team to offer the best possible study environment to its students.

Father Tobiaz Kuzeza also emphasizes the need to protect the Institute’s concession against any form of dispossession, thus calling on the competent authorities to support and accompany the project. The construction of these new auditoriums represents an important step towards improving teaching and learning conditions at the Higher Institute of Rural Development of Tshibashi.

This initiative marks a new era for the institution, making it a key player in the training of future professionals in rural development in the DRC.
