Preparation of the selection of the Leopards of the DRC for the qualifiers of the CAN 2025

Fatshimetrie, October 30, 2024 – In the world of Congolese football, all eyes are on the selection of the Leopards of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in preparation for the upcoming matches against the Syli of Guinea and the Walya of Ethiopia, as part of the CAN 2025 qualifiers.

The list of 26 players selected was unveiled by manager selector Sébastien Desabre, with some notable adjustments. The return of Yoane Wissa, after an injury, brings additional dynamics to the team. Similarly, the presence of Peter Kioso in defense for the first time compensates for the absence of Tuanzebe, injured.

In midfield, the young Ngal’ayel Mukau makes his big comeback after an absence due to injury. His initial call-up in August had been aborted, but he now hopes to be part of this crucial double confrontation. In attack, winger Yoane Wissa, in great shape with Brentford in England, returns to strengthen the Leopards’ attack after missing the last matches against Tanzania.

With 12 points in 4 matches, the DRC has already validated its ticket for the 2025 African Cup of Nations, displaying a fine supremacy at the top of Group H. The Congolese players are preparing to face Guinea and Ethiopia with determination and motivation.

On another note, Egyptian referee Amin Mohamed Amin has been appointed for the Guinea-DRC match, while Cape Verdean referees will officiate the DRC-Ethiopia match. The stakes are high for the Leopards who are aiming for qualification for the final phase of the 2025 CAN.

The fervent community of Congolese supporters is eagerly awaiting these matches which promise to be thrilling, hoping that the Leopards will confirm their excellence on the pitch. An appointment is made for intense and exciting moments of African football.
