Development and Progress in Lulenge: A Year in Review Under the Leadership of Chief Zawadi Kabandilwa Abambe

Fatshimetrie, October 29, 2024 – One year after taking responsibility for the Lulenge sector in Fizi province, eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, Chief Zawadi Kabandilwa Abambe presented a detailed assessment of his mandate to the inhabitants of Kilembwe during a meeting held on Monday, according to official information.

“I would like to share with you our assessment of the management of the Lulenge sector for the period from October 19, 2023 to October 28, 2024, that is, one year has passed and nine days of concrete actions,” said Mr. Zawadi Kabandilwa Abambe.

He stressed that since the beginning of his mandate, concrete actions have been undertaken in the Basimimbi groupement in Kilembwe, including road repair works to prevent water accumulation, the construction of two bridges in the village of Babungwe in Magembe, and the opening of an agricultural access road from Magembe to Makola.

The achievements have also extended to the Basikasingo, Obekulu and Basombo groupements, with the construction of bridges, road filling works, the provision of tools for road renovations, and material aid to local schools such as EP Safi and EP Ngusu.

Particularly notable is the assistance provided to the Nesani health centre with the provision of building materials, as well as the rehabilitation of eight bridges linking the villages of Kayumba to AbI, located on the border between the Lulenge and Ngandja sectors.

In terms of security, a significant reduction in conflicts has been observed, with an eighty percent decrease. However, disruptive elements persist, undermining the peacemaking efforts deployed.

Currently traveling in the Basombo group since last Sunday, the head of the Lulenge sector remains determined to continue his actions for the development of the territory, relying on the involvement and support of the local population.

In a context where the challenges are numerous, this assessment highlights the progress made and the challenges ahead for building a better future for the Lulenge community. Concrete actions, strong commitment and close collaboration with residents are the keys to meeting the challenges of local development and building a prosperous future for all.
