FARDC strengthens its fight against threats from armed groups in the DRC

In a context marked by the imposing threats of foreign armed groups such as the ADF and the M23, the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) are firmly positioning themselves to protect the country against any aggression and to defend innocent populations.

During the 19th ordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers in Kinshasa on Friday, October 25, 2024, the Deputy Minister of National Defense stressed the determination of the authorities to take the necessary measures to contain any attack by the M23 rebels and their allies.

With determination, the Deputy Minister strongly condemned the ceasefire violations perpetrated by the M23 terrorists. He insisted on the need to continue military operations in order to counter the activism of armed groups and protect citizens in vulnerable regions such as North Ubangi, Bas-Uélé and Haut-Uélé, where the Mbororo rebels threaten the peace and security of the population.

This statement comes in a tense context, marked by persistent security challenges in many regions of the DRC. The authorities, aware of the importance of ensuring peace and stability, are thus reinforcing their commitment to ensuring the security of citizens and defending the integrity of the national territory.

Faced with these crucial challenges, the FARDC remains mobilized and determined to address the threats weighing on the country, thus demonstrating its unwavering commitment to the protection of civilians and the defense of national sovereignty.

This situation underlines the crucial importance of the role of the armed forces in preserving security and stability in the Democratic Republic of Congo, as well as the need for a concerted and coordinated approach to counter armed groups and ensure a peaceful future for all Congolese citizens.
