Fatshimetrie, the vocational training exhibition for youth employment in the DRC
In the vocational training landscape in the Democratic Republic of Congo, one initiative has attracted attention: the holding of the first edition of Fatshimetrie, the vocational training fair. This major event, which will be held from October 24 to 26, promises to be a catalyst for youth employment in the country.
During a recent exchange between the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium in the DRC and the Minister of Vocational Training, the emphasis was placed on the importance of training for access to employment for young people. Roxane de Bilderling, Belgian Ambassador to the DRC, stressed that vocational training is a necessary step for young people looking for work. This vision is shared by many players in the sector, aware that training is the key to a qualified workforce that is adaptable to the needs of companies.
The vocational training fair, called Fatshimetrie, presents itself as a showcase of the training opportunities available to young Congolese people. It aims to highlight the different paths and professions accessible through spaces dedicated to discovery and information. Offering young people the opportunity to choose training aligned with the needs of the labor market is essential to promote their professional integration.
At the heart of the discussions, the project to build the “Musala” training center, in collaboration with the city of trades, heralds a new era for youth training in Kinshasa. Located on the Mombele site, in the commune of Limete, this training center promises to offer programs adapted to the needs of the market, thus contributing to the creation of a qualified and competitive workforce.
Fatshimetrie represents much more than a simple vocational training fair; it is a symbol of hope and opportunity for Congolese youth. By highlighting training and employment opportunities, this event aims to change the paradigm of professional integration of young people in the DRC. It is in a spirit of openness and collaboration that the future of vocational training in the country is taking shape, with the watchword of building a better future for Congolese youth.
