Official support from the mayor of Lemba for the Kin Elenda Project: Towards a supply of quality drinking water in Kinshasa

Fatshimetrie, October 21, 2024 – During a meeting held this Monday in Kinshasa, the mayor of the commune of Lemba, Jean Serge Poba, officially expressed his support for the “Kin Elenda Project” of Regideso SA, involved in water distribution in Kinshasa. In a committed speech, the mayor stressed the importance of supporting this initiative in order to guarantee a quality service to all residents of Lemba and surrounding communes.

Placing the responsibility on the shoulders of local authorities, Jean Serge Poba encouraged residents to pay their water bills regularly in order to financially support Regideso SA in its mission to provide the population with drinking water. He also called for respect for the environment, emphasizing the direct impact of waste on water quality.

For his part, the General Manager of Regideso SA, David Tshilumba, stressed the importance of involving subscribers in the process by honoring their payments. He stressed that these contributions were essential to enable the company to ensure a constant supply of drinking water to all residents of Kinshasa.

The “Kin Elenda Project”, supported by the DRC government with the assistance of the World Bank, aims to facilitate access to drinking water in the Congolese capital. It is part of a multi-sectoral development and urban resilience approach, aimed at improving the technical and financial performance of Regideso SA.
