Fatshimetrie, October 21, 2024 – The Beni region, located in the North Kivu province of the Democratic Republic of Congo, has recently undergone a remarkable transformation. The village of Kididiwe, once the stronghold of ADF terrorists, is now an example of pacification and prosperity thanks to the intervention of the Armed Forces.
The customary chief of the Bapakombe-Bakondo village, Mwami Taibo Atchou, called on the local population to exploit the fertile lands of the secured villages to fight against the famine that threatens the region. This initiative aims to encourage residents to develop fields and develop agricultural activities to ensure their livelihoods.
Kididiwe is now a vibrant place of life, with a primary school welcoming 62 children, a military dispensary that takes care of the health of the inhabitants, as well as a market under construction. The harmonious cohabitation between the military and the local population testifies to the progress made in securing the region.
A farmer testifies to the transformation of Kididiwe, saying he prefers to live in this secure village rather than in the city. The security provided by the 3406th regiment allows residents to go about their activities in complete serenity, far from past threats. This new dynamic encourages residents to invest in agriculture and exploit the abundant natural resources of the region.
After the reconquest of Kididiwe by loyalist forces, the village now welcomes inhabitants of different tribes, thus promoting an enriching cultural and social diversity. The Nyanga, the Luba, the Rega, the Nande, the M’vuba and the Pakombe live together in harmony, contributing to an atmosphere of peace and prosperity.
In short, the transformation of Kididiwe symbolizes the hope and renewal of the Beni region. This success story demonstrates that security and economic development go hand in hand, offering the local population promising prospects for the future. It is essential to continue efforts for pacification and development to ensure a better future for all the inhabitants of Beni and its surroundings.
The Beni region is on the path to renaissance, and Kididiwe is the living symbol, inviting everyone to cultivate the land and peace to build a prosperous and sustainable future.
