The 20th edition of the Africa Movie Academy Awards, better known as AMAA, promises to be a must-attend event for the African film industry. Scheduled to take place in Lagos on November 2, 2024, the ceremony promises to welcome a host of African film stars.
Among the actors and actresses who will grace this prestigious event with their presence, we find iconic names such as Jackie Appiah, Femi Adebayo, Osita Iheme, Keppy Ekpeyong Bassey, Kenneth Ambani, and Charles Koutou. Their presence on the AMAA red carpet will undoubtedly be a memorable moment for fans of the African film industry.
Raymond Anyiam-Osigwe, the CEO of AMAA, confirmed the participation of these great figures of African cinema during a recent meeting of the board of directors of the African Film Academy, which is the owner of AMA. He also promised a series of special activities to mark the 20th anniversary of the awards ceremony.
In addition to the celebrities already mentioned, other renowned personalities such as Lydia Forson, Chinedu Ikedieze, Micheal Majid, Adjetey Anna, Morris Sam, and Zuby Micheals have also confirmed their participation in this major continental event.
The festivities will kick off with the launch of the AMAA Coffee Book on October 25, followed by the AMAA Africa Night of Legends on November 1 in Lagos. Finally, the highlight of the event will be the gala evening and awards ceremony, to be held on November 2 at the Balmoral Convention Centre.
This special edition of the AMAA is therefore set to be a must-attend event for all stakeholders in the African film industry. It will showcase the talent, diversity and creativity of the continent’s filmmakers, while celebrating the exceptional achievements of the African film industry.
