The FrancoTech 2024 Show was the scene of a brilliant showcase of innovation and technology from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). This event, held in Paris as part of the 19th Francophonie Summit, offered a unique platform for Congolese actors to showcase their know-how and creativity.
Under the watchful eye of President Emmanuel Macron, the Congolese delegation, led by the Minister Delegate for Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Bestine Kazadi, and the Acting Director General of the National Agency for the Promotion of Investments (ANAPI), Bruno Tshibangu Kabaji, was able to shine among the French-speaking participants. Nine innovative start-ups from the DRC thus had the opportunity to showcase their innovative projects, demonstrating the richness of the Congolese entrepreneurial pool.
KOBIKA and Express App, two young Congolese companies, stood out by winning the prize in the Francophone innovation competition, highlighting their ability to think outside the box and propose creative solutions to contemporary challenges. This international recognition is a testament to the promising entrepreneurial potential present in the DRC, and encourages a new generation of entrepreneurs to embark on the adventure of innovation.
Beyond individual successes, the DRC’s participation in this fair also strengthened economic and commercial ties within the Francophonie. By exhibiting its culture and natural resources at the Francophonie village, the DRC was able to draw attention to its economic potential and open up prospects for fruitful collaborations.
The discussions and meetings held during the event made it possible to consider strategic partnerships aimed at encouraging investment in the DRC, in areas as crucial as food security and ecological transition. These transnational exchanges are opportunities for the development of the Congolese entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Looking to the future, ambitious projects such as “Invest in DRC”, scheduled for February 2025, demonstrate the DRC’s continued commitment to attracting foreign investors and to being part of a dynamic of sustainable economic growth.
The DRC’s participation in FrancoTech 2024 therefore represents much more than a simple showcase of Congolese innovation – it is a demonstration of the country’s commitment to integrating into the global digital economy, contributing to international issues, and charting its course towards a prosperous and promising future.
Ultimately, the flag of the Democratic Republic of Congo flew high and proud at this show, symbolizing a country resolutely turned towards the future and driven by limitless entrepreneurial ambition.
