Fatshimetrie, October 12, 2024 – A major project is on the horizon in Mbuji-Mayi, in the province of Kasai Oriental. Indeed, the relocation of 60 electricity poles along National Road Number One represents a crucial step in the establishment of a four-lane road system in the region. This reorganization is essential to improve traffic flow and modernize the local road infrastructure.
During a technical meeting chaired by the interim governor Dr. Augustin Kayemba Mulemena in collaboration with the provincial minister of ITPR Joachim Kalonji Tshibumba, the importance of relocating these poles to allow for the expansion of the RN1 was highlighted. Several entities, such as the roads office, SNEL, OVD, ACGT and the Chinese company CREC 7, are involved in this modernization project.
The provincial director of SNEL in Kasai Oriental confirmed that the electricity poles will be relocated in order to facilitate the construction of the four lanes on the road. An agreement was reached between SNEL and CREC7 to orchestrate this relocation operation, with the aim of maintaining the progress of the work while minimizing service interruptions.
This initiative, carried out in a spirit of harmony and cooperation, aims above all to meet the needs of the local population in terms of electricity and improved road infrastructure. The 10-day deadline set for the relocation of the 60 poles demonstrates the commitment of the stakeholders to successfully complete this major project.
