Ibadan court case: Men charged with conspiracy, identity theft

In a recent court case that rocked the city of Ibadan, a group of men were charged with various offences including conspiracy, impersonation and illegal possession of talismans. The accused, Jimba Hassan, Jamiu Adepoju, Abbey Kareem, Olayiwola Ibrahim and Tiamiyu Soliudeen, pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against them. The case, which took place on September 27 at 5:20pm in Sasa area of ​​Ibadan, revealed that the accused disguised themselves as women in a bid to deceive people and were allegedly found in possession of the talismans. The charges against the accused, all males, include conspiracy, impersonation and possession of charms contrary to sections 516, 484 and 213 of the Oyo State Criminal Code of 2000. During the hearing, the prosecutor, Inspector Olufemi Omilana, outlined the facts and urged the court to do justice.

Magistrate Gladys Oladele granted bail of N500,000 to each accused, in addition to two solvent sureties. This decision highlights the seriousness of the charges against the accused and underscores the importance of the case.
