A new beginning for the Popular Democratic Party: return to the status quo and renewed unity

A new chapter has opened in the Peoples Democratic Party-GF Governors’ Forum. At the end of a meeting that lasted into the early hours of Tuesday, the forum chairman and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, issued a clear directive: return to the status quo. The move comes in the wake of internal tensions within the party but also demonstrates the ability of PDP members to resolve their conflicts.

In a press statement, Governor Mohammed stressed the inevitability of dissension within a political party, while stressing the need to find peaceful and constructive solutions. “There is no crisis. The governors, the party’s Board of Elders, and the National Assembly caucus are all in agreement that the National Executive Committee of the party should return to the status quo,” Mohammed said. He also clarified that all pending suspensions have been reversed.

This decision marks a turning point in the history of the PDP and demonstrates the ability of party members to put aside their differences to work together in the greater interest of the party. Reconciliation and the search for internal unity are essential to strengthen the PDP and prepare the ground for the upcoming political events.

In conclusion, the recent message of the PDP-GF Chairman, Bala Mohammed, testifies to the political maturity of the party members and their willingness to overcome obstacles to move forward together. This decision to return to the status quo marks the beginning of a new era for the PDP, based on mutual understanding, respect and cooperation. Now, it is up to each and every member of the party to fully engage in this process of reconciliation and renewal, in order to build a strong, vibrant and united PDP.
