In the Maqousa region of Egypt, a tragic train accident has rocked the community, leaving two people dead and 22 others injured. On Sunday morning, a collision between two trains caused a spectacular derailment, plunging the sleeping car into the Ibrahimiya Canal and wreaking havoc in its path.

Rescue forces, maintenance units and heavy cranes from the Egyptian National Railways Company mobilized to extract the fallen locomotive, facing the village of Maqousa. While river rescue teams recovered a body in the evening, bringing the death toll to two.

Egyptian railway authorities responded quickly, saying the accident was caused by a collision between the locomotive and the rear of the night train from Aswan to Cairo.
