A shocking tragedy: the drowning of Jeanne Nsamba Mukendi in the Lulua River

The cruel loss of Jeanne Nsamba Mukendi, a 19-year-old woman, tragically drowned in the turbulent waters of the Lulua River, plunged the entire community into dismay. Mother of a four-year-old girl, her sudden disappearance sent shockwaves through those who knew her.

The mayor of the rural commune of Luiza, Guillaume Shidi, expressed his deep sadness at this unexpected tragedy. Jeanne lost her life while fishing, alongside her companions, when she was swept away by the rushing waters of the river, thus destroying her hopes and those of her family.
