Fatshimetrie, October 7, 2024. Young Congolese entrepreneurs recently benefited from a major opportunity to develop their businesses: the American African Growth and Opportunity Act (Agoa). It was during a national brainstorming workshop organized by the Association Jeunesse Républicaine (ReJe) in Kinshasa that this theme was discussed in depth.
The objective of this workshop, according to the national president of ReJe, Bienfait Éric Nsibula Kahasha, is to raise awareness and mobilize Congolese entrepreneurial youth so that they can fully seize the opportunities offered by Agoa. It is not only about encouraging young people to undertake, but also about promoting political reforms favorable to their economic and social development.
This meeting allowed the young participants to explore the different opportunities offered by Agoa in the field of entrepreneurship and local production. Indeed, the Law facilitates the export of Congolese products to the United States by exempting these products from taxes and duties. A boon for young entrepreneurs who see this opportunity not only as a chance to prosper individually, but also to contribute to the economic development of the DRC.
For Éric Nsibula, it is essential to raise awareness among young people to take ownership of this American Law that could transform their lives and those of their country. The Jeunesse Républicaine is therefore positioning itself as a key player in this mobilization by bringing together young entrepreneurs from all regions of the DRC to encourage them to engage in the reconstruction of the national economy.
Within the JeRe, youth are considered an essential driving force for the development of the country. Thanks to their support, many opportunities for success and job creation are offered to young Congolese, thus participating in the economic growth of the country.
In conclusion, Agoa represents a real opportunity for Congolese entrepreneurial youth to flourish and actively contribute to the development of the DRC. With increased awareness and adequate institutional support, young entrepreneurs will be able to make Agoa a major lever to transform the Congolese economy and improve the living conditions of the entire population.
