Strengthening financial transparency: the Court of Auditors and the Provincial Assembly of Kasaï-Central united for responsible governance

On September 27, a delegation from the Court of Auditors went to Kananga, the capital of Kasai-Central province, to meet with members of the Provincial Assembly. This delegation, led by Attorney General Salomon Tudieshe, aimed to present and popularize the law on the Court of Auditors, an institution whose role and powers are often unknown to the general public.

During this meeting, the Attorney General stressed the importance of the Court of Auditors as a supreme audit institution, called upon to collaborate closely with control bodies such as the Provincial Assembly. He stressed the need for ongoing cooperation between the two institutions, thus emphasizing the importance of the role of each in monitoring the executive.

The exchanges between the delegation from the Court of Auditors and the members of the Provincial Assembly were described as fruitful and relevant by the Attorney General. He expressed his satisfaction with the commitment of the President of the Provincial Assembly, Daniel Lukusa, to support the Court of Auditors in fulfilling its mission of control and transparency.

This approach to popularizing the law on the Court of Auditors is part of a series of missions undertaken across the country to raise public awareness of the importance of controlling public finances. Indeed, transparency and good management of public funds are essential elements to ensure effective and responsible governance.

It is therefore essential that citizens and political actors are informed and made aware of the role and missions of the Court of Auditors, in order to strengthen the effectiveness of control and anti-corruption mechanisms. This initiative by the Court of Auditors represents an important step towards better governance and more transparent management of public finances at the provincial level.

In conclusion, the meeting between the delegation of the Court of Auditors and the members of the Provincial Assembly of Kasai-Central marks a significant step in promoting transparency and accountability in the management of public funds. It illustrates the authorities’ commitment to strengthening control mechanisms and ensuring sound and efficient management of the province’s financial resources.
