Fatshimetrie, September 27, 2024 – The celebration of the 26th anniversary of the political party “Mouvement de libération du Congo” (MLC) promises to be a great moment of rebirth and renewal. Indeed, as the MLC celebrates its second silver jubilee, it is preparing to enter a new era marked by a renewal of the commitment of its members.
According to Jean-Désiré Mbonzi wa Mbonzi, national secretary in charge of mobilization and training of the MLC, this celebration is an opportunity to reaffirm the fundamental values of the party. Humanism, liberalism, solidarity, the foundations of the MLC ideal, must be strongly promoted to consolidate democracy and the development of the country.
Three key activities are on the program for this celebration: the opening of the university season focused on the training of trainers, various recreational activities to bring members together, and to honor the party motto “with God we will conquer”, a thanksgiving service will be held at the Notre-Dame du Congo Cathedral.
The history of the MLC bears witness to a positive assessment on several axes. Rich experiences in terms of defense and security of the territory, management of public affairs, exercise of state functions with merit, notable involvement in the electoral process and in advanced diplomatic initiatives.
Founded in Lisala in 1998 under the leadership of Jean-Pierre Bemba Gombo, the current Deputy Prime Minister in charge of Transport, Communication Routes and Opening up, the Congolese Liberation Movement continues to hold high its ideals and values for the well-being and progress of the Congolese nation.
In short, this celebration of the 26th anniversary of the MLC marks an important turning point in the history of the party, symbolizing its renewed commitment to a democratic, prosperous and united Congo under the values that have driven it since its creation. This meeting is a moment of reflection, celebration and commitment for all members and supporters of the MLC, testifying to their dedication to the common cause.
