In the context of the constant search for study opportunities abroad, the Democratic Republic of Congo is faced with a major challenge: that of effectively directing Congolese students to France. Statistics reveal that less than 10% of study visa applications submitted by Congolese students to the French Embassy have been successful, thus showing a problem of orientation and knowledge of the available courses.
This alarming observation underlines the crucial importance of guiding young Congolese in their academic choices to maximize their chances of success. Faced with this problem, the Student Fair planned in Kinshasa on September 27 and 28, 2024 appears to be a relevant and beneficial initiative. Indeed, this event aims to inform and guide Congolese students on the different courses of study accessible in France, as well as on the academic paths adapted to their aspirations.
Through conferences, quality interventions and sharing of experiences, this Fair will become a real springboard for Congolese youth in search of international academic horizons. By highlighting the LMD reform in force in the DRC and its implications on higher education in France, the organizers wish to facilitate the transition of students towards training that truly corresponds to their profiles and aspirations.
The Student Fair will not be limited to a simple exhibition of study opportunities, but aims to provide participants with a global vision of the professions of the future, both in the DRC and in France. Indeed, it will not only present the different sectors and opportunities, but also raise awareness among students of the expectations of companies in terms of skills and employability, in order to best prepare them to integrate the job market.
Beyond the academic aspect, this event aims to be a space for reflection and collaboration between local and French educational institutions, as well as institutional partners and companies. By promoting dialogue and exchanges between these actors, the Student Fair aims to strengthen the links between the different components of the educational ecosystem, thus creating an environment conducive to the development of higher education in the DRC.
In short, the Kinshasa Student Fair presents itself as a unique opportunity for Congolese students to learn, find their way and plan for a promising academic and professional future. This event promises to be a real catalyst for potential, offering young Congolese the keys they need to calmly consider their study path and their future integration into the world of work.
