President Félix Tshisekedi Tshilombo has confirmed his participation in the United Nations General Assembly, which is being held in Washington from September 24. This meeting is of high strategic importance in light of the many geopolitical events shaking the world today. The United States Ambassador to Kinshasa met with the Congolese President to gather his views on this crucial session.

The United States is paying particular attention to the situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which is facing serious security challenges, particularly due to interference from neighboring countries supported by foreign powers. The privileged partnership between Washington and Kinshasa was highlighted, even if the results of the ongoing humanitarian truce in the DRC are not fully satisfactory.

The incursions of Rwandan troops, violating the ceasefire and strengthening their presence in areas rich in natural and mineral resources, are raising concerns both regionally and internationally. The condemnations of the United States have not been enough to dissuade Paul Kagame from his annexationist ambitions, thus jeopardizing the territorial integrity of the DRC.

The rise of the BRICS, bringing together countries of the Global South, including China and Russia, worries the traditional Western powers. These countries seek to strengthen their cooperation on the international stage, with the aim of becoming the world’s leading economies by 2050. The BRICS attach great importance to social protection and cooperation between partners, which could disrupt the global economic order.

The divergences between China and India within the BRICS tend to diminish in view of the next summit scheduled for October, which will be attended by around twenty African countries. The DRC, rich in strategic minerals, is moving closer to this influential platform, attracting the interest of new partners, such as Russia and Turkey. This complex dynamic requires in-depth reflection by the authorities in Kinshasa to ensure a peaceful and prosperous future for the country.

In conclusion, the current geopolitical situation, marked by complex issues and international rivalries, calls on the international community to rethink its alliances and to prioritize cooperation for a more harmonious and prosperous future for all peoples. The DRC, as a regional pivot, must seize the opportunities that arise, while remaining vigilant in the face of the security and political challenges that mark its path to development.
