Strengthening ties between Egypt and Uzbekistan: Towards promising cooperation

**Strengthening Ties between Egypt and Uzbekistan: Promising Prospects for Cooperation**

The historical and friendly relations between Egypt and Uzbekistan are at the heart of a renewed dynamic, marked by high-level exchanges and a common desire to strengthen bilateral cooperation. The Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration, Dr. Badr Abdelaaty, expressed Egypt’s appreciation for the ties between the two countries during a meeting with his Uzbek counterpart Bakhtiyar Saidov, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The 2018 and 2023 presidential visits between Egypt and Uzbekistan marked the beginning of a new era of cooperation, opening up new and promising prospects for the two nations and their peoples. The Minister stressed Egypt’s commitment to maintaining this momentum by holding regular political consultations and exploring new horizons of collaboration.

The focus was on strengthening economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries. Egypt offers a favorable environment for investments, providing promising opportunities for Uzbek companies to develop and access African, Arab and European markets. It is therefore essential to establish an institutional framework to foster this economic cooperation, particularly through collaboration between chambers of commerce and the creation of a business council bringing together companies specializing in priority economic sectors for both countries.

The discussion also focused on regional and international issues of common interest, stressing the need to redouble efforts to promote global peace and security in the face of increasing crises and challenges. Both sides affirmed that achieving global peace and security would contribute to fostering stability and development on an international scale.

In a context where international collaborations are of crucial importance, Egypt and Uzbekistan demonstrate their willingness to strengthen their ties and work together for a prosperous common future. Through this renewed cooperation, the two countries aspire to consolidate their partnership and contribute to the promotion of peace and prosperity on a global scale.
