Closure of Bibwa works: A decisive step towards the economic development of the DRC

Bibwa has just experienced an event of capital importance for the economic future of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Indeed, the closing of the Bibwa works marked an essential step in the process of consolidating the Roadmap for investments and development. The technical services of the National Agency for the Promotion of Investments (ANAPI) have done a remarkable job in producing this new Roadmap, which was transmitted to the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Planning and Coordination of Development Aid.

In the interests of transparency and consultation, it is planned that the Deputy Prime Minister will soon convene the Meeting of the Steering Committee of the Thematic Group on Business Climate, Public-Private Partnership, Promotion of Investments and Employment to examine and validate this Roadmap at the ministerial level. This step is crucial because it marks the beginning of the validation process, which should continue up to the level of the Council of Ministers.

The retreat held at the Vénus Village in Bibwa brought together ANAPI executives and more than fifty business climate experts from different sectors for four days. The main objective of this work was to strengthen the capacities of the actors involved in monitoring the implementation of reforms, in order to equip them with the knowledge and tools necessary to ensure effective monitoring of sectoral reforms.

It is essential that state institutions responsible for implementing and monitoring reforms are fully involved in this process in order to ensure the success of the initiatives underway. It is with this in mind that only state institutions were invited to participate in this retreat, thus excluding the private sector and civil society.

This seminar is part of the vision of the President of the Republic, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, and is supported by the Government of Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka. It demonstrates the commitment of the Congolese authorities to improving the business climate and promoting investment.

ANAPI plays a crucial role as Technical Advisor to the Central Government and Provincial Governments in improving the business climate and promoting investment. The organization of this capacity-building seminar aims to equip reforming state institutions and structures with the skills and techniques needed to monitor and implement ongoing reforms.

In conclusion, the closing of the Bibwa work marks a significant step forward in consolidating the Roadmap for Investment and Development in the Democratic Republic of CongoThe commitment of the authorities and stakeholders involved in this process demonstrates the desire to boost the business climate and encourage investment in the country.
