Revival of mixed economy companies in the DRC: A promising partnership between Triomf and the government

Kinshasa, September 18, 2024 (Fatshimetrie) – Optimism reigns within the mixed economy companies sector in the Democratic Republic of Congo, as the Minister of Portfolio, Jean-Lucien Bussa, displays his determination to revive these major companies for the advancement of the national economy. This ambitious vision was confirmed during fruitful discussions with representatives of various companies, including Triomf, a mixed economy company engaged in the production of chemical fertilizers.

Emmanuel Ngandu, Deputy General Manager of Triomf, testified to the Minister’s commitment to actively support the revival of mixed economy companies. He stressed the crucial nature of this approach for the country’s economic development, specifying that Triomf had encountered certain difficulties in this revival process. However, with the support of the government and the necessary adjustments, the company is ready to fully contribute to the development of the wealth of the Congolese soil.

This initiative is part of the vision of the President of the Republic to promote quality agriculture, improved by the use of locally produced chemical fertilizers in collaboration with South African partners. The objective is clear: to increase agricultural productivity, ensure increased food security and offer new opportunities for sustainable economic growth.

The meeting between the Minister of Portfolio and Triomf representatives also focused on essential structural and financial aspects, such as the capital contribution and the modification of the company’s statutes. These discussions demonstrate the common desire to boost the mixed economy companies sector and create an environment conducive to investment, innovation and economic prosperity.

At a time when the DRC aspires to strengthen its economy and develop its natural resources, the revival of mixed economy companies appears to be a strategic lever to stimulate growth and create sustainable jobs. This approach reaffirms the government’s commitment to promoting an inclusive, dynamic and resilient economic environment, capable of responding to current challenges and preparing for the future with confidence.
