ISTM-Kisangani is training a new wave of health professionals ready to take on socio-economic challenges.

The Higher Institute of Medical Techniques (ISTM-Kisangani) celebrated the proclamation of 1,054 graduates during its closing ceremony for the 2023-2024 academic year. Among these graduates, 571 are from the Bachelor-Master-Doctorate (LMD) system and 483 from the previous system.

Professor Désiré Isetcha Tawiti, Director General of ISTM-Kisangani, stressed the importance of these graduates for the job market and encouraged them to bring honor to their institution. He highlighted the efforts of the ISTM management committee to improve the learning conditions of students and the working environment of academic staff.

ISTM-Kisangani’s achievements include the construction of new infrastructure, such as classrooms, offices and a modern hospital. The education advisor to the governor of Tshopo province appealed to the laureates to get involved in the fight against the Mpox epidemic affecting the region. She encouraged them to use their skills as health professionals to help stem this health crisis.
