Fatshimetrie, September 17, 2024 – A tragic event has shaken the city of Kinshasa in recent days. A lifeless body was discovered near the Mutamba bus stop, causing shock and consternation in the Siforco district of the commune of Masina. The local authorities, mobilized as part of the “Kinshasa ezo bonga” operation, took charge of this sad episode.
According to the information gathered, it is the body of a woman who died as a result of a road accident that occurred on Sunday at 7 p.m. Unfortunately, her identity remains unknown, as her identification documents are missing. Deprived of a telephone, she cannot be identified or claimed by her family. Faced with this situation, the authorities decided to bury the victim as indigent, as they were unable to undertake an identification procedure.
Serge Timbero, coordinator of “Kinshasa ezo bonga”, stressed the importance for the population to have identification documents such as a voter card or a telephone, to facilitate any intervention in the event of an emergency. He also called for more solidarity and kindness, regretting the lack of assistance to the victim of the accident.
According to testimonies, the accident was caused by a dump truck that violently hit the woman at the Mutamba bus stop. Despite the seriousness of the situation, few people came to the victim’s aid, preferring to film the scene with their smartphones instead of intervening to help her.
This sad event reminds us of the need for collective awareness of the importance of solidarity and the duty to assist others. Road safety and respect for human life must be priorities for everyone, in order to avoid such tragedies in the future.
In conclusion, this incident invites us to reflect on our individual and collective behaviors, and to show empathy and compassion towards our fellow human beings. Hoping that this tragedy serves as a lesson to all, so that every life counts and deserves to be protected and respected.
