Fatshimétrie, September 15, 2024 – At a major meeting of the National Alliance for Solidarity (ANS) in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, women members were encouraged to embody moral probity and integrity as essential pillars to prevent any form of delinquency within the party.
ANS National President Christine Ndaya stressed the importance for women politicians to be role models of exemplarity and respect in the exercise of their responsibilities. She insisted that positions of power are not enough to make a woman a respected figure, but that it is the way she behaves, both in her public and private life, that defines her value as a leader.
“A woman politician must act responsibly and with dignity. We must distinguish ourselves by our morality, our actions and our words. It is essential that women politicians embody values of respect and responsibility to serve as role models for society and the entire nation,” said Ms. Ndaya.
For her part, Michella Mukadi welcomed the wise advice of the national president and stressed the importance of discipline and rigor in the exercise of politics. She recalled that any female politician who engages in deviant behavior harms not only her personal reputation, but also the image of the entire party and society as a whole.
“As women politicians, we must be examples of virtue, integrity and dedication. Our commitment to the nation requires that we be irreproachable in our actions and convictions. We must cultivate trust and respect for our political and social commitment,” stressed Michella Mukadi.
