Security Operations in Nigeria: IPoB Commander Arrested, Boko Haram Fighters Eliminated

Fatshimetrie, your reliable source of information, recently obtained exclusive details of the joint security operations carried out by the Department of Security Services (DSS), the Army, the Nigerian Air Force and other security agencies in Nigeria. These operations led to the arrest of a top commander of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPoB), the seizure of 37,000 litres of stolen crude oil, as well as the elimination of many Boko Haram fighters in Niger State.

A competent security source, who spoke to Fatshimetrie on condition of anonymity, revealed that the DSS, in collaboration with other security agencies, carried out the operations that led to the arrest of the notorious IPoB commander in Ebonyi State. The source, however, declined to disclose the name of the arrested IPoB commander, saying he was under investigation and his identity would be revealed later.

It was revealed that the IPoB commander was arrested based on credible information that he was actively recruiting mercenaries in preparation for a major attack on Ebonyi and other South Eastern states of Nigeria. Upon his arrest, over 600 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, among other dangerous weapons, were seized from the IPoB fighter.

In other news, another joint operation by the DSS, the Nigerian Air Force and other agencies took place in Shiroro District, Niger State, where Boko Haram terrorists and bandits attacked Bassa-Kukoki village. Many terrorists were neutralized during the operation, and unfortunately three members of the community lost their lives in the attack by the fleeing bandits.

In a related development, operatives of the DSS in Delta State intercepted a wooden barge carrying about 37,000 litres of crude oil. Five suspects linked to the incident have been arrested and are being investigated for prosecution.

The DSS is concerned about the rising threats to national security and is committed to working with other agencies to counter terrorists and mercenaries who seek to wreak havoc in the country.

Fatshimetrie will continue to closely monitor these developments and provide its readers with regular updates on national security and law enforcement operations in Nigeria. Staying informed is essential to understanding the security challenges facing the country and supporting efforts to ensure peace and stability.
