PDP Local Government Election Campaign Launched: A New Political Era in Akwa Ibom

At the heart of the political ferment in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, is the recent campaign launching ceremony of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the local government elections scheduled for October 5, 2024. Delivering on its promises to promote local democracy, the PDP presented the 31 mayoral candidates at a dazzling event at the Uyo City Stadium.

At the grand occasion, Governor Umo Eno warmly congratulated the selected candidates and urged them to run issue-based campaigns, free from bitterness, violence and vilification. The 31 mayoral candidates, through the Uyo mayoral candidate, Dr. Uwemedimo Udo, expressed gratitude to the governor and the PDP for the opportunity to campaign on the party’s flag, pledging to remain issue-focused throughout the campaign.
