While campaigning in Egor and Ikpoba-Okha, Edo State, Governor Godwin Obaseki expressed confidence in his work done for the state and said his successors, Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie, would continue in the same vein.
In an impassioned speech at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign rallies held in Egor and Ikpoba-Okha, Obaseki highlighted his long relationship with Asue Ighodalo, a man he described as brilliant. He assured the people that the path to progress must not be interrupted and that it is time to look forward.
In his speech at the Olua Primary School ground in Uselu, Obaseki reiterated the importance of the upcoming election on September 21. He stressed the importance of voting for continuity and encouraged voters to go to the polls early and protect their choice.
Asue Ighodalo, on his part, pledged to harness the potential of Edo youths in a positive manner for the benefit of all. He promised to implement policies to encourage youth creativity and success while ensuring prosperity for all.
The PDP State Chairman, Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, thanked the people of Egor for their warm welcome and urged them to mobilize in the same manner on election day.
At Ikpoba Hill, at the home of running mate Osarodion Ogie, the campaign turned into a party as the governor, candidate and campaign team arrived. The speeches underscored the importance of community participation to ensure a landslide victory in 2021.
The high point of the rally was the defection of hundreds of members of various political parties including the APC, the Labour Party (LP) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the PDP, thus reinforcing the positive momentum of the campaign.
The commitment of the candidates and the citizen mobilisation are testament to the importance of this election to the future of Edo State. It is of the utmost importance that the people come out in force on the day of voting and opt for progress, youth and continuity represented by the team led by Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie.
The vision shared by the political leaders is a call for collective action to build a better future for all the people of Edo State. Now is the time to make your voice heard, vote for progress and ensure a smooth transition to an era of prosperity and opportunity for all.
