At the heart of a tragic news story in Kisangani: the triple assassination case at PK9

In a recent news story, a tragic incident shook the city of Kisangani, involving a triple murder within a family residing at PK9, Yangambi road. The case, which attracted general attention, is now at the heart of the judicial debates, within the city’s garrison military court.

During the fourth day of hearings which took place on Friday, September 6, the various actors involved – the composition, the public prosecutor, the civil parties and the defense – reviewed the evidence collected at the scene of the crime which occurred on Monday, September 2. According to the information presented by the public prosecutor, the investigators followed traces of blood which led to the alleged murderers, found at their home. Two women were also at the scene, one wearing a bloodstained jacket and the other handling a bloody rag.

The two women are appearing as defendants, one of them being the second wife of the deputy head of PK10. The latter is accused by a witness of being the author of the murders of the Lisasi couple and their child. In response, the deputy head of PK10 told the court that he had transported the victims, killed with a machete, which would justify the presence of blood on his jacket.

Despite the late hour, the military court continued to sit until 6 p.m. and decided to deliver its verdict the same day. Following a request to suspend the hearing, supported by the defense and the civil parties, the resumption of deliberations is scheduled for Monday, September 9. The civil parties will have the opportunity to present their conclusions, the public prosecutor will present its indictment, while the defense will plead its case.

This case is moving the community of Kisangani and raises crucial questions about justice and citizen security. As the mystery surrounding this triple assassination persists, the wait for the court’s decision remains intense, hoping for a fair and equitable outcome for all parties involved.
