Payment problems at the Kinshasa tax administration: The issues and the solutions

The incident was discussed during a meeting between the provincial Minister of Finance and the director of the urban financial authority, aimed at clarifying the problems of late payments encountered by certain agents and executives.

The provincial Minister of Economy and Finance of Kinshasa took the initiative to personally look into the situation that led to the demonstration by agents of the General Directorate of Revenue of Kinshasa. During this meeting, the Director General of the DGRK, Mr. Michée Musaka, provided detailed explanations on the late payments observed in certain partner banks, ensuring that the agents concerned will be paid as soon as possible. He also called for a harmonious working environment within the capital’s tax administration.

The trade unionists present took the opportunity to request an audience with the provincial Minister of Economy and Finance. She promised to receive them within 48 hours to discuss the various problems affecting the capital’s financial administration.

Monday’s incident, where tax administration officers gathered in front of the Provincial Assembly to demand payment of their salaries, underscores the importance of ensuring adequate working conditions and remuneration for personnel responsible for collecting public revenue.
