An exemplary electoral process: A look back at the APC primaries in the state

The much-awaited political event of the APC primaries in the state held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, giving way to a democratic process marked by consensus and affirmations across all the constituencies in the 23 local governments in the state.

The statement emanating from the press office of the state APC Chairman noted that the primary elections were conducted mainly through agreements and confirmations, thus ensuring a smooth and peaceful conduct in most local governments and districts.

Hon. Samuel Atsuku, a participant in the primary election in Tarka Local Government, commended the commitment and determination of the party stakeholders in the process.

“The success of the APC primaries is a testament to the unity and determination of our party members. The peaceful conduct of the exercise reflects our collective commitment to democracy,” Atsuku stressed.

Similarly, in Katsina-Ala Local Government, Hon. Simon Aluor commended the order that prevailed during the primaries and expressed appreciation to party faithful for their confidence in the APC.

“Our party set a good example by maintaining peace and order during the nominations,” Aluor said.

In Gboko Local Government, the primaries also ended peacefully, with Hon. Basil Yina emerging as the APC chairman.

In Otukpo, a large number of party members expressed support for Oleho Augustine, their preferred aspirant for the chairmanship.

The Guma Local Government APC Chairman, Hon. Lazarus Asema, described the nomination process as peaceful and well-organized.

He commended the state leadership of the APC for their efficient management throughout the exercise.

Members of the party in various local governments expressed satisfaction with the nomination process.

Honourable Abua Yaji and Honourable Fidelis Audu commended the party stakeholders for a successful and transparent primary election.

The commitment of APC members to democracy and transparency in the party was highlighted through the primaries, thereby underscoring the importance of citizen participation in the democratic political process.
