Fatshimetrie recently published a captivating article on the controversial Instagram celebrity’s experience, which opened up about his stay at the Kirikiri Correctional Facility in Lagos.
Bobrisky was sentenced to six months in prison without the option of paying a fine, following his conviction by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of a Lagos Federal Court for misusing the naira.
His conviction came on Friday, April 12, 2024, after prosecution by the Economic and Financial Commission Against Corruption (EFCC), and Bobrisky was released on Monday, August 5 after serving his sentence.
In an interview aired on the ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask’ podcast, the self-proclaimed ‘Lagos Mom’ described her prison experience as a sort of holiday, saying she needed the time to rest.
“Who is an ex-convict? You brought me here to embarrass me or what? I am not an ex-convict because I cannot be convicted for giving away money. I am not going to accept that. But if you are talking about my former self, I can say yes. Because I was once a man, I can’t even remember when,” Bobrisky said.
The artiste maintained that people sought to break him by convicting him, noting that his incarceration was like a movie.
However, he rejected the ex-convict tag, saying that in future, he would rather throw dollars than naira at events.
Bobrisky explained why he pleaded guilty, which led to his conviction, noting that he did so because he was the person in the video presented as evidence.
Contrary to speculations that the controversial celebrity was detained in the Very Important Persons section, Bobrisky revealed that he was locked up in the male section of the correctional facility, where he was treated in a special way by his fellow inmates.
Ultimately, Bobrisky’s prison experience was a period of reflection and adjustment for him, allowing him to gain perspective on his life and think about his future, while continuing to assert his unique and provocative personality in a world that never ceases to judge him.
Fatshimetrie continues to follow the news related to Bobrisky and remains attentive to any new information that may shed more light on this significant episode in his life.
