The rise of the industrial sector in the DRC thanks to Refriango Beverages

The industrial sector of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is marking a major turning point with the recent visit of the Minister of Industry, Louis Kabamba Watum, to Refriango Beverages. Located in the Maluku Special Economic Zone, on the outskirts of Kinshasa, this Angolan company specializing in the manufacture and distribution of carbonated energy drinks has aroused the admiration and hopes of the government.

During his inspection of the Refriango Beverages facilities, the Minister said he was impressed by the work accomplished and the ambitions displayed by the company. Indeed, Refriango Beverages has set itself the goal of becoming a major player in the production and distribution of carbonated energy drinks in the DRC.

The $50 million agreement signed between Refriango and the Special Economic Zone for the installation of a manufacturing plant for alcoholic beverages and juices in Kinshasa demonstrates the confidence and investment that this Angolan company is prepared to devote to the development of the country. According to Elie Tohwe, CFO of Refriango Beverages, this plant will contribute significantly to the progress of the DRC by offering quality alcoholic beverages and juices accessible to the population.

During the last DRC-Angola economic forum in 2023 in Kinshasa, the installation of Refriango Beverages within the Maluku Special Economic Zone was mentioned as one of the positive outcomes of economic cooperation between the two countries. This collaboration promises to open new perspectives for the industrial and economic development of the DRC.

In conclusion, the visit of the Minister of Industry to Refriango Beverages underlines the importance of foreign investment in the Congolese industrial sector and highlights the potential for growth and innovation in this field. With strategic partnerships and entrepreneurial ambitions such as those of Refriango Beverages, the DRC is committed to sustainable and diversified economic development.
