The Jenga Tumaini Project: A Step Towards Empowerment and Hope in South Kivu

The Jenga Tumaini textile design project, located in South Kivu, symbolizes the momentum of a community committed to the fight against youth and women’s unemployment. Funded by the German Government, this project represents much more than a simple economic initiative. Indeed, it embodies hope and the desire for social transformation through the empowerment of individuals.

The recent inauguration of this project has given rise to a surge of enthusiasm and optimism among the local population. The Jenga Tumaini center, which is the leader of this beautiful project, makes it a point of honor to promote local know-how and offer concrete opportunities for economic development. By offering a variety of services such as industrial sewing, textile printing and customization, Jenga Tumaini Design Kivu positions itself as a major player in the empowerment of women and young people in the region.

Marie-Rose Iragi, head of this project, expresses with conviction the importance of this initiative for the community: “This project is a real opportunity for us, but also for the entire local population. It opens up prospects for employment and growth while strengthening the social fabric of our region.”

The German ambassador to the DRC, Ingo Herbert, present at the inauguration, praised the commitment and determination of the project leaders. He stressed the importance of local initiatives in building a more prosperous future for all. “The economic development of a region is based on concrete projects and the involvement of everyone in their implementation. Jenga Tumaini embodies this vision of change.”

Thus, Jenga Tumaini is not just a textile design project, it is the symbol of a community that is mobilizing for a better future. By combining innovation, training and solidarity, this project offers promising prospects for South Kivu and beyond. It is by supporting such initiatives that we actively participate in building a more just and equitable world for all.
