Fatshimetrie, July 26, 2024 – A major operation was carried out by law enforcement in Kinshasa to put an end to the activities of alleged uncivilized individuals. Indeed, no fewer than 63 individuals, including seven police officers and a soldier, were arrested and presented to the provincial police station in the city.
This show of force underlines the authorities’ commitment to fighting crime and ensuring the safety of the inhabitants of the Congolese capital. Among the alleged uncivilized are armed robbers, repeat offenders and individuals guilty of vagrancy.
The objects seized during the arrests, such as bladed weapons, a minibus and a large quantity of heroin, highlight the extent of the criminal activities of these gangs. In addition, the police seized 26 non-compliant Toyota IST vehicles as well as several motorcyclists who had violated the rules in force.
This operation comes shortly after a security meeting in the governorate of Kinshasa, during which local authorities asked law enforcement to redouble their efforts to protect the population and their property.
In short, this action demonstrates the authorities’ determination to ensure public tranquility and actively combat crime in the region. It also reiterates the importance of close cooperation between the police and the community to maintain a safe and secure environment for all.
