Fatshimetrie, July 23, 2024 – The official seal of the National Assembly of the Democratic Republic of Congo, designed by the Ministry of Justice and Keeper of the Seals, was officially presented to the President of the Bureau of the Lower House of Parliament during a solemn ceremony at the People’s Palace in Kinshasa.
The Minister of State for Justice and Keeper of the Seals, Constant Mutamba, stressed the importance of this new seal as an authentic emblem of the parliamentary institution. He explained that this initiative was part of the promotion of the role of the Keeper of the Seals and the preservation of the official identity of the National Assembly.
During the presentation of the seal, the President of the National Assembly, Vital Kamerhe, expressed his gratitude to Minister Mutamba for his diligence in the design and manufacture of this emblem. He also praised the security and quality of the new seal, manufactured locally by the Chanimetal company, which specializes in the construction and repair of river units.
As the custodian of this symbolic instrument, Vital Kamerhe pledged to ensure its proper use and impeccable conservation. He called on other institutions to follow the example of the National Assembly by complying with the constitution regarding official seals, stressing the importance of collaboration with the Ministry of Justice in this regard.
