Consolidation of progress: IBTP-Kisangani on the road to academic excellence

Fatshimetrie, July 20, 2024 – The Institute of Building and Public Works of Kisangani, IBTP-Kisangani, is delighted with the satisfactory progress of its five-year strategic plan until 2027. According to the Director General, Prof. Dr. Sylvain Alongo, this academic institution is gradually positioning itself as a major player in the field of higher education in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

During the recent ordinary council of the IBTP-Kisangani, which was held from July 18 to 19, 2024, the actions carried out within the framework of the strategic plan were evaluated. This mid-term evaluation made it possible to demonstrate significant progress, particularly with regard to governance and the improvement of learning conditions for students. The general director emphasizes that IBTP-Kisangani is becoming a real pillar in the province and in the country, sparking positive emulation within the academic community.

The participants in this council stressed the importance of maintaining transparent management of the institution’s finances in order to strengthen governance. In addition, recommendations were made to strengthen the skills of students, real key players in the IBTP-Kisangani educational ecosystem. The construction of laboratories, workshops and drawing rooms has been identified as a priority to train qualified professionals committed to the social and economic transformation of the local, national and international community.

Despite notable progress, weaknesses have also been identified. The latter were taken into account in the operational recommendations in order to accelerate the implementation of the strategic actions planned in the 2027 plan. Prof. Dr. Sylvain Alongo affirms that the objective is to position the IBTP-Kisangani as a benchmark high school of engineering and public works in Africa by 2027.

In conclusion, IBTP-Kisangani is committed to continuing its efforts to provide quality training and contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of the country. The next steps in implementing the strategic plan will be essential to consolidate the progress already made and strengthen the institution’s position on the national and international scene.
