AFDC-A calls on the Sacred Union: tensions and demands at the heart of Congolese politics

At the heart of political news in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Alliance of Democratic Forces for Congo (AFDC-A) makes its voice heard within the Sacred Union. This political grouping, founding member of the Sacred Union, expresses its dissatisfaction with the distribution of positions within the institutions of the Republic. A public statement by national deputy Landry Cizungu, interfederal president of the AFDC-A in South Kivu, highlights the tensions and demands within this political-social grouping.

In a context where disagreements and political injustices seem to reign, the AFDC-A demands a more equitable distribution of positions, particularly within the Judith Suminwa government. Yet with significant representation figures (40 national deputies, 13 senators, 77 provincial deputies and 99 municipal councilors), the group believes that its contribution to the Sacred Union deserves greater consideration.

MP Cizungu strongly underlines the injustice felt by the AFDC-A in the face of a distribution which seems disadvantageous and unrepresentative of its place within the Congolese political landscape. Calling for an extraordinary congress to discuss this burning issue, the AFDC-A is calling on both the authorities of its party and the hierarchy of the Sacred Union to rectify this situation deemed harmful.

This declaration reveals the cracks within the Sacred Union, highlighting the tensions and dissatisfaction of certain political actors. While the country seems to be in the midst of political change, these internal quarrels highlight the complexity and challenges of political alliances in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

It is necessary, in this context, that consultation and dialogue prevail to guarantee political stability and fair representation of the different forces present. The AFDC-A, through its public reaction, calls upon the entire Congolese political class on the need for inclusive governance that respects the diversity and contributions of each actor.

In a country in full political evolution, where coalitions are made and broken, the question of representativeness and the fair distribution of responsibilities appears to be a crucial issue for the construction of a sustainable democracy respectful of all its actors. The voice of the AFDC-A, beyond its specific demands, raises broader questions about the nature of political alliances and the place of each in the construction of a common future for the Democratic Republic of Congo.
