The recognition of Congolese entrepreneurs at the 2024 Pierre Castel Prize

Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, was recently the scene of the most anticipated event in the Congolese entrepreneurial world: the final of the 2024 edition of the prestigious Pierre Castel Prize. This event, which aims to highlight and reward innovative and impactful projects of African entrepreneurs, reached its peak on Friday, June 21, 2024 during a videoconference bringing together the finalists and the Grand Jury of Bordeaux.

During this memorable day, Elie MBEKI, leader of the La Fleur project, and Eric KOPI, head of BEYAGRO SARLU, faced off with passion and determination to convince the jury of the relevance and potential of their respective initiatives. Under the enlightened presidency of Mr. Grégory Clerc, Managing Director of Castel Afrique, the Grand Jury made the difficult decision to award first prize to Elie MBEKI, thus rewarding his hard work and innovative vision.

By receiving a grant of 15,000 euros, Elie MBEKI sees his project La Fleur not only recognized but also financially supported to be able to develop and flourish. In addition, he will benefit from the valuable mentoring of Mr. Emmanuel MEDARD, General Manager of BRACONGO, as well as a tailor-made coaching program provided by RDC Entreprise Développement.

As for Eric KOPI, designated as the second winner of the Pierre Castel RDC 2024 Prize, he is rewarded with a grant of 10,000 euros, a great recognition of the quality of his BEYAGRO SARLU project. In addition, he will be able to count on the support and personalized assistance of RDC Entreprise Développement to continue to grow his initiative.

Beyond this major event for Congolese entrepreneurship, the Pierre Castel Prize brought together six African countries this year, highlighting the creativity and audacity of the continent’s entrepreneurs. The winners from each country will also have the opportunity to meet at the next Pan-African Awards Ceremony, which will be held in Algeria.

As a signatory of the UN Global Compact and certified ISO 9001, ISO 14 001 and ISO 45 001, BRACONGO SA positions itself as a major player in sustainable development and social responsibility in the Democratic Republic of Congo. With its stated desire to promote excellence and innovation, BRACONGO SA is committed to supporting and supporting local entrepreneurs in their quest for success and growth.

Congratulations to Elie MBEKI and Eric KOPI, worthy winners of the 2024 edition of the Pierre Castel Prize in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Their success is an inspiring testimony to the dynamism and talent present at the heart of the Congolese entrepreneurial ecosystem, and a promise of a bright future for the country’s economic development.
