**Fatshimetrie 2024: Start of the ordinary session of the state exam in the DRC**

The ordinary session of the state exam for the 2023-2024 edition starts in the Democratic Republic of Congo with massive participation. More than 962,000 candidates are registered in 2,800 centers across the country, as well as in certain consular schools in neighboring countries. A new edition which promises to be crucial for many young Congolese aspiring to a qualification which will open doors to a better future.

This year, the inspector general of the Ministry of National Education and New Citizenship, Odia Musungayi, emphasizes that the number of candidates is slightly lower than that of the previous year. However, it highlights a significant increase in the participation rate of girls, now reaching 47 to 48%. An encouraging development which testifies to the growing commitment of young Congolese girls in the pursuit of their studies and their emancipation.

Despite the challenges and stakes of this exam, Odia Musungayi invites candidates to approach the tests with confidence. He reassures them by specifying that the subjects are based on the subjects taught throughout their school curriculum, and encourages them to stay focused and not give in to the temptation of cheating. An essential reminder of the importance of ethics and integrity in the educational journey of young Congolese.

In order to guarantee the fairness and transparency of the exam, reinforced measures against cheating have been put in place. Invigilators are called upon to play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with the instructions and rules for taking the tests. A shared responsibility which helps to ensure the credibility and value of the diplomas awarded at the end of this examination, and which allows candidates to demonstrate their skills in a fair and equitable manner.

In this intense period of trials and challenges, the entire educational community in the DRC is mobilizing to support candidates in passing this state exam. An opportunity for everyone to highlight their knowledge and skills, and to take a new step towards the future they are shaping. May this ordinary session of the state exam be the springboard towards new horizons for all young Congolese engaged in this adventure of knowledge and personal success.
