The Minister of State in charge of National Education and New Citizenship, Raissa Malu, kicked off the tests of the ordinary session of the 2024 State Exam this Monday, June 24, 2024, at the Shaumba High School in Kinshasa. The mobilization is palpable, with 957,986 candidates expected, including 42.17% girls, for a total of 404,011 young women ready to take this crucial national test.

In a desire for national coverage, the Deputy Minister of National Education, Jean-Pierre Kezamudro, organized a session in Kolwezi, in the province of Lualaba, thus offering an opportunity to a larger number of candidates to participate in this major academic challenge.

Jacques Odia Musungay, Inspector General of National Education and New Citizenship, took the opportunity to send a particular message of encouragement to students living in the east of the country, a region subject to security challenges. He stressed the importance of guaranteeing access to the Exetat tests for all candidates, including those from areas plagued by instability, thus expressing the firm desire of the State to support the education of young people, even in the most complex circumstances.

This initiative was also welcomed by the First Lady of the Republic and President of the Foundation Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi, who sent a message of encouragement to all the finalists in the country. On social networks, his call for excellence and surpassing oneself inspired many young people to focus on their success during this crucial exam.

The change in the name of the ministry, from the old acronym EPSP/EPST to MINEDN-NC (Ministry of National Education and New Citizenship) highlights the evolution of the priorities of the national education sector.

In short, this edition of the 2024 State Examination marks an important milestone for education in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It highlights the commitment of the authorities and civil society to the education of young people, as well as the determination of candidates to seize the opportunities presented to them. This crucial step represents a bridge towards a promising and encouraging future for Congolese youth.
