Fascinating marine wildlife sightings along Egypt’s northern coast

The sighting of marine animals along Egypt’s northern coast has generated considerable interest in recent days, fueling speculation and questions. Videos circulating on social media have highlighted the potential presence of a shark or whale off the northern coast.

Egypt’s Ministry of Environment recently stated that no confirmed reports of unusual marine animals have been received in the area. This comes as the National Institute of Marine Science and Fisheries has set up a monitoring group to investigate the possible sighting.

Heba Maatouq, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Environment, stressed that the presence of whales in the area is normal and assured the public that the northern coast remains a safe place for vacationers. She also denied any recent sightings of live whales, referring only to a case of a dead whale reported during Eid al-Adha.

The National Institute of Marine Sciences and Fisheries in Alexandria has set up a commission to investigate alleged sightings of whales or dolphins in the waters of the beach of the village of Marbella. However, in the absence of tangible evidence to identify with certainty the species observed, experts believe that it could be a minke whale, while continuing their investigations to confirm this hypothesis.

This situation raises questions about the presence of marine fauna along the Egyptian coast and highlights the importance of monitoring and conserving these fragile species. It is essential to raise public awareness of the richness of marine biodiversity and the need to protect these unique natural environments.

In conclusion, these observations arouse public interest and curiosity, while highlighting the importance of preserving and protecting the marine environment for future generations. The Mediterranean Sea, rich in biodiversity, offers a unique ecosystem to explore and preserve, inviting everyone to take part in the preservation of this precious natural heritage.
