Visit of military leader Ibrahim Traore to the headquarters of national television: an act of support and firmness

The renowned military leader in Burkina Faso, Ibrahim Traore, recently paid a visit to the headquarters of the national television in Ouagadougou. This initiative aimed to reassure staff following a violent attack that hit the premises of Radiodiffusion-Télévision du Burkina (RTB) the previous week.

During his presence at RTB, Captain Traore was able to directly assess the damage caused by the attack and provide moral support to the employees. In these times of political instability, his visit aimed to dispel any form of fear and clarify the situation.

Faced with rumors that he had gone into hiding, Captain Traore firmly rejected the allegations: “We never run away. We are soldiers, and that’s the last thought that crosses our minds. We don’t back down. , we do not surrender, and we do not kneel to anyone except our parents and God. This is our mentality,” he said.

During a question-and-answer session with journalists, the military leader addressed the current situation in Burkina Faso, criticizing certain media for spreading false information. His statements followed an attack in Mansila, sparking unrest among soldiers and rumors of a potential mutiny.

“It seems to me that many have now understood; most of them are lying media. They spend their time lying and manipulating, and today when I see their reports and everything they say, it is shameful. They have proven to all of Africa and the whole world that they are liars. This is good. I think that the Burkinabè youth and the African youth must understand this,” Traore stressed.

Ibrahim Traore’s visit to RTB takes place in a tense context in Burkina Faso, marked by violent episodes and growing tensions. His commitment to providing support and clarity illustrates his determination to address the current challenges in the country, underscoring the need for transparent communication and firm action in a climate of uncertainty.

This approach on the part of the military leader highlights the importance of maintaining dialogue with the media and actively engaging in restoring confidence and stability in a critical period in the history of Burkina Faso.
