“We are thrilled to see how this home has captured everyone’s attention and hearts because of its well-deserved place in cinematic history and the timeless memories it evokes,” McKenna and Moor told the Chicago Sun- Times.

The home, famous for its role in the classic Christmas movie, has undergone extensive renovations and expansions since it last sold in 2012 for $1.58 million.

The brick Georgian-style home now has five bedrooms, six bathrooms and more than 9,000 square feet (836 square meters) of living space. Notable upgrades include a private movie theater, perfect for watching “Home Alone” and reliving the adventures of Kevin McCallister.

The “Home Alone” films, released in the 1990s, are Christmas classics. Culkin was 10 years old when the first film premiered. He also starred in other ’90s films, such as “My Girl” and “Richie Rich.”

The property also has a fully equipped gym and an indoor sports court with a basketball hoop, offering luxurious amenities suited to modern lifestyles.

“Home Alone” tells the comedic story of Kevin, an 8-year-old played by Macaulay Culkin, who is accidentally left alone when his family goes to Europe for Christmas. Kevin creatively defends the house against two clumsy burglars, played by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern, using various traps, including the famous tin cans hanging from a rope.

This real estate announcement has generated a lot of interest, not only for its renowned past, but also for its substantial renovations, combining historic charm and contemporary luxury. The sale of this property represents a unique opportunity for potential buyers to own a piece of cinematic history while enjoying top-tier modern amenities.
