Jean Bakomito Gambu elected governor of Haut-Uele: a new political era in progress

The appointment of Jean Bakomito Gambu as governor of Haut-Uele province has been confirmed by the Haut-Uele Court of Appeal, marking an important step in the political future of the region. This decision follows an election which saw Jean Bakomito win with 11 votes out of 20 voters, thus ahead of his three competitors.

This election marks a turning point for the Haut-Uele province, which sees in Jean Bakomito Gambu the potential to lead the region towards new horizons. His victory also signifies a significant political transition, as he becomes the 3rd elected governor of this relatively young province, created from the split of the Tshopo province.

Jean Bakomito Gambu was able to convince voters of his ability to lead the province with determination and commitment. Its vision for the future of Haut-Uele is based on solid foundations, aiming to promote the socio-economic development of the region and meet the needs of its diverse population.

The contestation of the election by traditional leader Constant Lungangbe Mbatanadu highlights the political and social issues surrounding this democratic process. However, the decision of the Haut-Uele Court of Appeal to ratify the victory of Jean Bakomito as governor reinforces the legitimacy of the electoral process and underlines the importance of respecting the will of the people.

As governor, Jean Bakomito Gambu will face many challenges. It will be his responsibility to implement policies and initiatives that meet the needs and aspirations of the population of Haut-Uele, while ensuring the good management of public affairs and the development of the region.

Jean Bakomito Gambu’s leadership will be tested in the months and years to come, but his determination and vision for the future of the province could well mark a new era for Haut-Uele. It is up to him and his governance team to address these challenges and chart a path toward a prosperous future for all residents of the province.
