Fatshimetrie: Fighting tuberculosis together for a world without this “killer” disease

Fatshimetry

In the ever-changing world we live in, it is essential to stay informed about the health challenges facing humanity. Tuberculosis, an infectious disease that continues to wreak havoc on a global scale, is at the heart of the concerns of health authorities. During the celebration of World Tuberculosis Day in Mobayi-Mbongo, the alarming statistics revealed highlighted the importance of awareness and mobilization to fight this disease.

According to Dr. Jerry Kibanza Kyungu, head of the provincial health division in North Ubangi, tuberculosis is ranked among the ten leading causes of death in the world. However, the resources allocated to its fight are often much lower than those allocated to other diseases such as Ebola viral fever or COVID-19. It is therefore urgent to increase efforts and mobilize more resources to stem the spread of tuberculosis.

The national tuberculosis control program has set the ambitious goal of eliminating the disease by 2035. However, to achieve this goal, priority actions must be implemented. These actions include the expansion of diagnostic services, the use of innovative approaches to improve detection, as well as the involvement of local communities and civil society in awareness-raising and prevention.

The theme of World Tuberculosis Day, “Yes, together we can end tuberculosis”, resonates as a call for collective mobilization. It is crucial that each of us realize the importance of this fight and commit to contributing, on our own scale, to the eradication of this deadly disease.

In conclusion, tuberculosis remains a major public health challenge that requires urgent and coordinated action on a global scale. By joining forces and multiplying initiatives, we will be able to reverse this disease and help save lives. Let us all be agents of change and mobilize to achieve a world without tuberculosis.
