The security situation in the Mambasa region is increasingly worrying, with the reported presence of Ugandan Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels in various villages in the Bangole grouping. The Convention for the Respect of Human Rights (CRDH) is sounding the alarm about this new threat weighing on local populations.

According to human rights activist Grace Kakine, this presence of the ADF stems from recent military operations carried out around Mangina, in the territory of Beni, thus forcing the rebels to move towards the province of Ituri. This change of territory raises concerns about the safety of residents of the Bangole grouping, particularly those in Block A. It is crucial for these populations to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movements to the competent authorities.

To counter this threat, Grace Kakine calls for close cooperation between residents, security forces and local authorities. He underlines the importance of denouncing rebel activities to enable the armed forces to effectively neutralize enemy combatants. This collaboration is essential to protect citizens and prevent potential jihadist attacks in the region.

It is important to remember that the ADF have been active for more than two years in the territories of Irumu in Ituri and Beni in North Kivu, intensifying their abuses and causing suffering to local populations. The current situation in the Bangole grouping highlights the need for a collective and coordinated response to guarantee the security and stability of the region.

In conclusion, the presence of ADF rebels in the Mambasa region is a serious threat which requires an immediate and effective response from the competent authorities. The mobilization of all stakeholders concerned is essential to counter this threat and protect local populations. It is essential to put in place reinforced security measures and strengthen cooperation between the security forces and civil society to ensure the tranquility of the inhabitants of the Mambasa region.
