The announcement that the election for the governor of South Kivu would take place on Thursday, May 2, aroused great anticipation among the local population. Indeed, candidates Jean Jacques Purusi of the AFDC-A and Émile Sumaili of the UNC are the last in the running after a first round held on April 29. The plenary scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. therefore promises to be decisive for the political future of this province.
