In a recent police operation led by the Lagos State Police Spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, a significant event unfolded. According to reports by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday, officers from the Ijaniki Tactical Detachment successfully seized illicit substances in the Ajangbadi area.
The tactical team’s attention was drawn to a white Mercedes Benz mini truck, which they decided to monitor closely. They followed the vehicle to the Ilufe Waterside jetty at Alaba International, Ojo area. Upon arrival at the site, the police witnessed the unloading of a large quantity of substances wrapped in bags, suspected to be Cannabis.
A 43-year-old suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed, was apprehended for his alleged involvement in the incident. A total of 1,040 packages, suspected to be Cannabis and distributed in 30 bags, were confiscated during the operation.
The suspect claimed that he was given the substances by an individual known as Ifeanyi, with instructions to transport them from the Waterside jetty to Alaba International Market in Ojo, Lagos.
